This study is part of our series of verse by verse studies of the second book of Kings, the 12th book in the Bible. Taught by our pastor, Barry Forder, at our Sunday morning service on Sunday 27th July 2015. In this chapter (10) we see Jehu (the new king of Israel) put to an end the dynasty of Omri, as he has put to death the 70 sons of the wicked Ahab – Israel’s worst king. However, for all of his zeal, his heart was not right toward God. Many today are content to do things for God, but are unwilling to serve Him with the heart.
Paul tells us that unless we confess with our lips that Jesus is LORD (actions) and believe in our heart (submission and faith) we will not be saved. But for those who are willing to die to self, and love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength there is promised eternal blessing.
