This study, of the book of Proverbs, taught by Pastor Barry Forder, is the 22nd session of our ‘Through-the-Bible-in-a-Year’ series recorded during 2014 as part of our Sunday morning family services.
Written in the main by king Solomon, this book is a handbook for those who want to be wise in God’s eyes. Paul tells us in his 1st letter to the Corinthians that the wisdom of the world is foolishness to God, whereas Isaiah reminds us that God’s ways and thoughts are far above our own. The Bible records (in 1 Kings 3:12) that Solomon was given a unique gift of wisdom ‘so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee’.
We would do well to heed the advise found in this book!
May this overview prompt you to undertake your own study of this divinely inspired book.
