Romans Ch7

In this verse-by-verse study of Romans chapter 7, given on the 27th October 24, pastor Barry looks at what the Apostle Paul taught us about the purpose and nature of the Law. It cannot make us righteous, it can only condemn. It cannot keep us from sinning, it can only awaken the sinful nature within.

The Law leaves us defeated and like Paul we find we end up doing the things we know are wrong, and feeling powerless to do the things we know are right. Thus, the Law drives to cry out: “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” (Rom 7:24)

If that were the end is would be a sad conclusion! But it is not the end of the matter, for Paul declares that there can be deliverance, there can be freedom, there can be the reality of walking in victory of the demands and dictates of the flesh life – and it is though the Person and power of the indwelling Spirit of Christ!

May you be blessed and encouraged by this study.
